In Home to a King, a new public art commission for the Durham University Botanic Garden from poet and artist Alec Finlay, the names of trees are embedded within crossword clues which are painted onto a series of bird boxes that have been sited around the gardens. With the help of a map, visitors can follow the trail, spot the boxes and complete the crossword. A fun day out for the family and a permanent public artwork for the garden. Alec Finlay will be launching his new book as part of the event at 12pm.
