Barry Hirst’s work explores two distinct subjects – the images that his work represents and the method he uses to create this representation, which essentially asks the viewer to question ‘How is it made?’ and ‘Why was it made like that?’ The exhibition features Hirst’s images of Seahouses, Craster, Amble and Howick from his home county of Northumberland. Barry Hirst studied at the Camberwell and Slade Schools of Art. He has taught at the Camberwell, Watford, Croydon and Chelsea Schools of Art and at the University of Sunderland. He is an Emeritus Professor of Fine Art.
