In 2008, Mark Beaumont broke the world record for cycling solo around the world. A remarkable man with a penchant for ultra-endurance expeditions, his epic journey saw him cover 18000 miles, cycling 100 miles a day for over half a year. In 2009, his second solo challenge was a 15000 mile expedition along the American Cordillera, the longest mountain range on earth, including a climb up the continent’s two highest peaks; all filmed for a BBC1 documentary. Here, Mark tells the fascinating story of his adventures. A captivating tale of mental and physical endurance and where life can take you to if you’re determined.
