The Lamplight Arts Centre, Stanley, is celebrating the launch of its brand new stand up nights, courtesy of The Grinning Idiot Comedy Club, with a double bill from two of the North East's biggest names in comedy, Sarah Millican and Simon Donald. The award winning Sarah Millican, who hails from South Shields, has been seen showcasing her unique brand of comedy on top tv shows such as Mock the Week, Micheal McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow, Have I Got News For You and 8 Out of 10 Cats. Simon Donald, also from the region and most famously known as the co founder of Viz, will be bringing a new character Barry Twyford, to the Lamplight, a census taker with a few questions up his sleeve to test out on the crowd.
