Peace & Tranquility Week: Old Fulling Mill free entry

Enjoy free entry to this fascinating museum and take part in the excavation of the garden in front of the Mill cottage. There has been a mill on this site since the 1400's, today's building dates from the 18thC and was used as a fulling mill, part of the cloth making process.

Nearest station is Durham Station. Leave station, go down road, cross bridge on left. Follow path into North Road. Follow road past taxi rank until on Framwellgate Bridge. Turn right past Cafe Rouge and go down steps. Walk along river bank until you reach museum.
Nearest major road is A1(M). Leave at exit for Durham City and follow signs for centre. Straight over roundabout, 2nd exit off 2nd roundabout to multi-storey car park. Walk out of car park, right path to Market Place, down Silver Street, down steps by Cafe Rouge.
