Join storyteller Malcolm Green for an informal evening of ripping yarns and lively music! Hear tales of the local area - and perhaps share some of your own stories...
The third Ales and Tales storytelling evening organised by the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Partnership is part of the Living North Pennines (LNP) project, which aims to conserve and enhance all the qualities that make the AONB such a special place. Previous Ales and Tales evenings were held in the Lord Crewe Arms in Blanchland, Northumberland, where the locals - and people from further afield - packed the atmospheric Hilyard Room to listen to Malcolm's thrilling tales that intertwined myth and folklore with local history.
It's free but booking is essential. And of course the 'Ales' part of the evening will be on sale at the bar! Children attending Ales and Tales must be aged 12 or over.
The three-year LNP project is funded with almost £2m from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and runs until the end of 2010.
