Comic actor Adrian Edmondson (The Young Ones, Bottom) was a teenager when punk arrived - the songs of The Sex Pistols and The Clash were the soundtrack to his life. After a recent boozy lunch in Soho, Ade stumbled into a music shop and ‘accidentally’ bought a mandolin. Whilst working out a few favoutite songs, he got in touch with a bunch of great folk musicans and within an hour - the band was born. With Ade on vocals and ‘thrash mandolin’, Fairport Convention’s Maartin Allcock on guitar and bass, Andy Dinan on fiddle and Troy Donockley on uillean pipes and whistles, their album Yan, Tyan, Tethera, Methera!, is out now and they’re on the road to have some real fun. Punk songs on folk intruments - genius! Support: Ella Edmondson
