Streets ahead this weekend

This weekend see's the return of an street festival that has bypassers gasping in awe and giggling in amusement.
Streets welcomes the best street performers from across the globe and fresh from the Edinburgh festival to the unique setting of Durham city. There's acrobatics, juggling, comedy and much much more to be seen if you venture into the Market Place or Millennium Place on Saturday and Sunday from midday to 5pm.
But that's not all there is to keep you entertained! On Friday we also welcome back Sing-a-long-a Rocky Horror at the Gala theatre with a camp cabaret of performances to dazzle and entertain. So warm up your vocal chords and get ready to party Transylvanian style. Follow the on-screen lyrics and don’t forget to use your free goody-bag of props which you can pick up at the door. Fancy dress is not obligatory but highly recommended!
Then on Saturday night Durham Cathedral hosts a truly special one-off gig by local favourites The Futureheads. The mackem band have just released an entirely acoustic and a-cappella album to critical acclaim and they'll be performing this and other favourites for a Cathedral that is packed to the rafters! The Futureheads are supported by two rising stars of the local scene, The Lake Poets and Natasha Haws.
