Thousands of local people are being offered a special 'free weekend' at iconic visitor attractions in the County as a big thank you for backing Durham's City of Culture bid.

The Durham Celebration Weekend-  Saturday and Sunday March 20th and 21st - sees attractions and events taking part across the county offering either free admission, waiving the fee to some part of their attraction, or offering a limited number of free, or two for the price of one, entries.

If you're interested you can pick up vouchers at Tourist Information Centres and libraries in the County from next Wednesday which allow up to six people to take advantage of the offers at most attractions taking part. A special 'passport' is also available for either The Bowes Museum or Beamish Museum which admits two adults for the price of one during the weekend.
