Are you Durham personified?

Are you or someone you know Durham personified? The people behind Lumiere need to photograph 100 local people for one of the festival installations. The images will be transformed into large scale portraits and projected onto buildings in Durham's Market Place for next months festival of lights, Lumiere. If you’d like to be one of them, email us and tell us a bit about yourself or the person you are nominating.
The UK's leading lighting architects, Speirs and Major Associates, has been commissioned to create this temporary artwork entitled Heart of the City - A Place for the People. (pictured is one of their pieces of work - Sackler Crossing, Kew Gardens)
Local people are invited to nominate individuals who reflect the wide-ranging character of the area. Nominees can be of any age, and come form any walk of life - perhaps a nurse, a verger from the Cathedral, a market stall holder or a school child.
Mark Majors, director of Speirs and Major Associates, said, "We're incredibly excited to be working in Durham as part of Lumiere. We want our installation to transform Market Place into a place for the people of Durham and mark the contribution they have made to the city."
