Bishop Auckland Town Hall
Bishop Auckland Town Hall (BATH) has been many things in its history before its reopening as a library and arts centre in 1993.
The Eden Theatre is the main performance area with 210 seats and is named after the original Eden Theatre which once stood in Bishop Auckland. The father of Stan Laurel (real name Jefferson) managed the Theatre - at the end of the nineteenth century, then again in the 1920's. The theatre welcomes a variety of amateur and professional productions and films.
BATH also houses The McGuiness Gallery, named in honour of renowned local mining artist Tom McGuinness. The Gallery holds regular exhibitions of art work changing every three weeks.
